Methodist Council of India (MCI)

Methodism came to India in 1856, and Methodist churches were established in major cities such as Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, and Bengaluru. Over time, the Methodist witness grew strong across the nation.  In 1981, the Methodist Church in India was formally constituted as an autonomous affiliated church, maintaining its spiritual heritage while functioning independently. Today, the MCI continues to uphold Methodist doctrines, mission work, and service-oriented ministry across India.
